A Safe Place to Talk
Yew Matter is based Ellesmere, Shropshire, and from here, I offer counselling, coaching, supervision, and training. From counselling to specific relationship counselling, I have helped over 150 clients.
Life is demanding!
Life can be crap!
We do our best to cope with difficulties which arise in our home, our workplace, our family and our other relationships.
Despite our best efforts how often do you feel that no matter what you do, events do not work out as we want to.
Do you find each day a struggle? perhaps you find it difficult to get out of bed? no longer enjoy the activities you used to? carry this constant nagging feeling that something is not quite right but you dont know why. You dont want to bother your family and friends as they have enough worries.
You may have had a major incident such as a physical or sexual assualt, a car crash or something else that keeps intruding into your thoughts.
Then comes along a world wide pandemic that completely changes the way we live our lives. For the first time freedoms we took for granted are challenged. For months we have had to worry about our incomes, our social relationships and health of ourselves and loved ones.
You cant change the past but you can make the future better.
The opportunity to reflect on issues and with a trained counsellor start putting them right.
My name is Alan and as a Trauma counsellor I am trained to listen to your problems in a confidential and non-judgemental way. The careful listening attention and support of a trained counsellor can help you discover a way through the apparently impossible problem-maze and the difficult days. Counselling can be emotionally draining and painful, but it can also be liberating and joyful. Each journey is unique and I will be there to walk with and provide the support that you require.
Counselling is a life-changing experience which allows the client ultimately to regain control, or gain acceptance, over the life issues which brought them to therapy, thereby leading to a better quality of life.
There will be times when you do not want to talk about an experience that is troubling you. This can be a very unpleasant experience where you continue to get flashbacks. I can help with this with a therapy called Rewind.
I offer counselling for individuals, couples and family groups. At the moment I can only offer telephone or video counselling but from mid July 2020 I hope to offer a face to face service subject to precautions for Coronavirus at my new office near Ellesmere, Shropshire.
If you are unsure if I can help with your relationship please look at the book I have written called Yew-Matter.com Guide To...Improving Relationships available from Amazon at £2.99 for a kindle book and £5.99 for a paperback. After reading the book that you may not require couple counselling but if you do and you want to see Alan either face to face in Yew-Matter's office in Ellesmere or by video link. The cost of the book from the fee of the first session.
I have several years of experience of working with clients with issues such as living with the effects of a traumatic incident, anxiety, stress, sleep issues, sexual dysfunction, and relationship difficulties. If an issue is one that may be psychological, I can help. The list of issues is extensive, so if you’re not sure, please get in touch and I will be happy to advise.
